ABOUT BRIDGE THE GAP STUDIOS

Bridge the Gap Studios is a CIC that works with young people & families facing challenging life situations. We encourage and facilitate improvements – in home life, educational attainment, attitudes, and futures. We use music and drama therapy, a variety of creative workshops, and evidenced based parenting programs as platforms to illustrate and support positive life choices. In the last 5 years, we have supported over 200 young people and families across London. Be Exceptional.

OUR IMPACT

From 2019 our focus has been addressing the key issues of generational trauma, access to services and social-economic barriers faced by ethnic minority communities and low-income households. We have had an overwhelming response to our interventions with participants and audiences. Both parents and young people had an increased understanding of the importance of healing from generational trauma and were compelled to address this issue. Our participants including our Youth Board have experienced;

  •
  • Increased creative expression.

  • Improved relationships with family and peers

  • Better decision-making – with young people choosing to avoid criminal lifestyles.

  • Increased resilience, self-confidence and self-worth

  • Increased understanding of the importance of healing from generational trauma

  • Strengthened leadership qualities and ability to collaborate with others.

  • Increased meaningful networks.

  • Empowerment to access and create skill building opportunities.

  • Access to built in mental health services

  • Improved aspirations leading to paid work and job opportunities within and outside of the creative arts. This resulted in young people positively engaging with education and experiencing improved financial prospects.
